4.) Faith and KnowledgeIn an ideal world, faith and knowledge would walk side by side during humanity’s progression. That is if FAITH and KNOWLEDGE were matched evenly in a 1:1 ratio in the head of every human being. To believe and to learn are natural needs of every human. We are programmed in such a way. We would not have survived in the evolution of life without these qualities. However, to believe blindly is a mistake. In other words, every person should also doubt. Because simple logic says that believing everything is foolish. The problem of many is comfort. Anyone who wants to question something or to criticize it constructively must first possess information. A lot of information. And not only on the matter at hand. About a plethora of other things directly or indirectly related to it. That requires overcoming one’s laziness and beginning to take notice of issues all around oneself, even those concerning the whole world. Because life makes it clear that everything is correlated to everything else. Scientific research has shown that only about 20% of people are able to navigate the constant influx of conflicting information on one subject or another. Only this 1/5 of humanity is capable of distinguishing a falsehood from the truth in everyday life!!! What do the remaining 80% do? They believe. Some totally and blindly, others naively and perhaps a little bit less strongly. Because “simply believing” is convenient and often brings one comfort. For them, thinking is exhausting and a waste of time. And to eschew dealing with the problems surrounding oneself is convenient. It is quite sad that 80% of people are UNABLE to distinguish a FALSEHOOD FROM THE TRUTH in the conflicting information influx. Not only are they deceived by utter nonsense themselves, but then also proceed to spread it as a matter of course. That is another reason why today’s world finds itself plagued by a myriad of unnecessary problems. It cannot possibly be in any more of a favourable state. The ratio of 20% “well-informed people” to the 80% with their eyes covered and ears plugged does not allow it. This is the baseline for today’s world. Is it possible to plan and build a better tomorrow for the Earth from this starting point? With difficulty. Great difficulty. We would need a miracle for that to be achievable. But that kind of miracle, “that 80% of humanity would suddenly start thinking”, such a miracle simply WILL NOT HAPPEN!!! The law of equilibrium in the Universum does nonetheless apply. Therefore something ELSE will inevitably happen. |
